Beachside Swimming

On the 11th of March 16 students from grade 4 to grade 6 went to a Beachside Swimming Carnival, where they raced against the hardest schools in Melbourne.

First there were the Freestyle relays, then the individual Freestyle events. Then the Backstroke, Breastroke and then the Butterfly. To finish it off there were the 2 outstanding medley events. Everyone did a fantastic job.

We would like to thank all the Lifeguards, Parents, Teachers and all the other schools for making this day possible.

Thank-you to  Boston F  for sending in the above article about the day.

Success can be measured in numerous ways. It could be measured in medals or placings or it could be measured in smiles and joy. It could also be measured in tears and triumphs. Our students at St James have had it all in the last two weeks. We had a fantastic day at the Beachside Swimming Carnival on Friday 11th March. A special mention to Alfie C who came 2nd overall in both the Freestyle and Butterfly individual events, narrowly missing a place into the next level of regionals. Alfie was also a part of a medley relay team made up of Jack H, Charlie S and James H who finished 3rd overall. We also had 5 relay teams go through from our HOLT carnival, plus another 9 individual swims on the day.

Beachside Tennis Tournament

On Tuesday 15th and Thursday 17th March Katie Z and James H represented the HOLT district at the Beachside Tennis Tournament.

Well done to Katie who played two matches and received the following results 6-0, 3-6.

Also well done to James.

Thank-you very much to both families for supporting Katie and James at these competitions.
