BK Working Bee

The Secondary School will be having a working bee on

Sunday 28 August 10am - 12pm

followed by a shared BBQ lunch at 12.00pm.

All Preshil families, friends and staff are welcome to attend this community event. It is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the School grounds and connect with other families.

If you are able to attend (even for an hour - all help is appreciated!) please email the number of people attending to natalie.jensen@preshil.vic.edu.au as this will assist with planning and catering for the day. 

Please bring along any tools, such as brooms, buckets, gardening gloves, etc that you may find useful.

Report Survey Results

Thank you to all families who completed the very quick 10 question survey on our new reporting process - it has provided us with valuable information which we will use for reflection, evaluation and action.

Here are some of the survey results. Learning Tasks  has been a valuable assessment and reporting module on Compass, with most families accessing this information regularly (weekly) or occasionally (once or twice a month). Seventy-five percent of parents who accessed this felt it was a good indicator of their child’s strengths and areas requiring development.

In the comments section it was noted that families would like to see Learning Tasks used consistently across subject areas. It will be an area of development to ensure all subject areas are using this for their assessment and reporting.

IB Visit in August

Final preparations are underway for our verification visit by the IB team in August. The visiting team will come to our School over three days to verify that all of the standards and practices which need to be in place are in place for the purpose of being authorised.

The agenda for this visit, 22-25 August, is currently being drafted in collaboration with the visiting team and will be shared with our School community once finalised. We will also be inviting parents to join us for a meeting with the visiting team. If you are interested please contact me natalie.jensen@preshil.vic.edu.au.

Invitation to the VCE 2017 Information Evening

Year 10 parents and students are invited to the VCE 2017 Information Evening which has been scheduled for Monday 8 August at 7pm in the library. This evening marks the beginning of the important and exciting process of subject selection and course planning for VCE 2017 and beyond. It is the first step in the program of extensive support offered to students and their parents in navigating VCE choices and selecting a course that suits each individual student.

We highly recommended that you attend.
