Tumbi Umbi High School Disco
On Wednesday 19 September, 30 of our students attended the Tumbi Umbi High School combined schools disco. Our students had a fantastic time and all looked amazing in their sporting attire ranging from soccer players, basketballers, footy players, referees and cheerleaders to name a few. They all ripped up the dance floor with their fabulous moves while catching up with friends from other schools. Another great disco held by Tumbi High School. Thank you to all the teachers and support staff who came and helped and danced up a storm as well. A huge thanks to Mr Secomb for doing multiple bus trips to get our students to and from the disco.
Northcott Athletics
Last Thursday 13 September, 10 of our students travelled down to Homebush to compete in the Northcott Athletics Carnival. It was a very busy day competing in track events ranging from 100m and 200m sprints to bean bag races and relays. They also competed in field events including shot put, discus, javelin and hurdles and obstacle courses for a wheel chair participants. A great day had by all with many ribbons won by our very talented students. Thanks to Mrs Secomb and Mrs Hughes for all their hard work and running around on the day.

For a number of years now special education has supported students with an intellectual or physical disability in the sport of athletics and has seen some excellent results achieved with an average of 3 students each year reaching the Combined High Schools State Carnival. This year was no different and we are pleased to congratulate Ebony Wright, Lateesha Mead and Charlotte Gott for representing the Sydney North region as Henry Kendall High School Students.
The results for the events were as follows:
Ebony Wright

3rd Girls 16+ years Multiclass 100m (Broke the T20 CHS Record)
Lateesha Mead
4th Girls 12-15 years Multiclass Javelin
9th Girls 12-15 years Multiclass Long Jump
11th Girls 12-15 years Multiclass Shot Put
Charlotte Gott

All these girls are to be congratulated for their efforts. Charlotte and Lateesha have only just started their high school careers and show excellent potential for future years. Ebony Wright is now the CHS record holder for the 100m in the 12-15 and 16+ age groups in the T20 class. We are also waiting to hear if she has broken an U18 Australian Record in the T20 class as well!!
