Deputy Principal's Report - Mrs Wearne

As the term ends I would again like to thanks all our families and caregivers for their support of our school and students.

Year 8

Year 8 have had another busy term ending with a welfare focus last week. The Welfare Day centred on the concept of respect, in particular respecting themselves. It was a very busy day and we would like to thanks Ms McLennan for all her organisation.

Year 8 have also received their junior elective choices for 2019 on Tuesday 18 September. All students can access their electives for 2019 through their DOE email accounts. Any issues please see Mrs Wearne.

Year 10

Year 10 have also been proactively preparing for senior school in 2019, they too have received their subject patterns for Year 11. All students are encouraged to talk about their overall pattern and any concerns can be directed to Mrs Wearne. To further support the transition into Year 11, Year 10 will be completing The Stage 6 Preparation Program in Term 4. The program involves lots of growth, knowledge and skill activities that help prepare students for the change in Stage 6.

The Year 10 Hospitality prepared the staff morning tea in Week 8. They created a fantastic morning tea, some staff saying it was the best ever. Big thanks to Year 10 and Mrs Pratt.

To My Dear Year 12 Students

Congratulations on reaching this wonderful milestone; as such fantastic ambassadors for our school, your families and as individuals. As I read your reports, there was a constant flow of beautiful adjectives to describe each one of you: honourable, exemplary, outstanding, passionate, conscientious and delightful. Moreover, your teachers are sending you off into the world with heart-felt messages of success and thanks for your contributions to our school. Collectively you should all be proud of the individuals you have become throughout this journey at Henry Kendall High School.

For Charles Dicken’s wrote; “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness”, that it has been Year 12.

I will miss you all

Mrs Natalie Wearne
