The final showcase of Max Potential was held on Monday 3 September. RU OK?

The school was lucky enough to receive a small grant from Central Coast Area Health, Suicide Prevention Area Health and LifeSpan to help raise awareness of the day and encourage all students to get involved.

Our aim was to celebrate the work being done around mental health in the school and to help students to start a conversation.

As well as our amazing guest speaker, Joni, on the day there was a photo booth, collaborative art project, tattoos, positive action and affirmation cards as well as free hot chocolates to encourage students to check in with their family and friends.

The 4 action steps;

1. Ask

2. Listen

3. Encourage Action

4. Check In; were the main themes of the day.

The students really got behind the day and it was great to see the school awash with yellow.

A big thank you to all the student leaders and volunteers who helped out on the day

Year 11 Photography

We have been examining documentary photography from an international to a local level. On one hand student were asked to document a person close to them but of a different age. We presented these with words and colours that connect with that person. Congratulations to Madison Shearer, Holly Hunter, Shania Martin, Cameron Rigney, Natasha Trumm and Jacinta Dall on your excellent work.

We also looked at the very broad topic of Materialism and students had to choose a small part of this very large issue and compose a series of photos on this topic. Many students looked at environmental issues or global warming or poverty or urban/city development. Great work once again Tom Bennett, Shania Martin, Natasha Trumm, Madison Shearer, Jacinta Dall, Holly Hunter and Elise Christy.
