Year 8

This year, the private dance school that we attend was invited to perform at the 2019 Moomba parade. When we first heard this news, we were all so excited and couldn’t wait to begin learning the routine. We had to attend multiple rehearsals in different conditions so we could learn to perform and dance on any ground.

On the day of the parade, everyone was feeling both nervous and excited. We were lucky enough to be chosen to perform in front of the King and Queen of Moomba (Archie Thompson and Jane Bunn).

The parade was televised on Channel 7, where the news presenters announced our dance school’s upcoming trip to Disneyland, in America. There were several students from BSC performing in our group including Poppy Wood, Lucy Greene, Angelique Neskakis, Alice Davis, Lena Protz, Joanne Fotiadis and Maddie Assender.

It was a great experience that helped improve our performance skills in front of cameras and large crowds. We definitely hope to participate in the 2020 Moomba Parade!
