Principal's Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to the beginning of Term 2. It’s hard to believe we are already in the month of May! Over the past month I have enjoyed being on Long Service Leave, travelling to the US and Canada to visit my daughter who is on a working holiday. It was an amazing experience with many highlights. It’s great to be back refreshed and energized as we tackle a short but busy term ahead.

A big thank you to our wonderful staff and leadership team who steered the ship in my absence.

With Easter this year being part of the school holiday break, I hope everyone had the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends and reflect on how Easter is relevant in our own lives and also the life of our school and wider community.

ANZAC Day

Last Tuesday we commemorated Anzac Day, when we remember all the men and women who have served our country and sacrificed their lives in war.

Lord, we give thanks for the loving people in our lives, as they continue to make sacrifices for us.

We thank you for all the people who fought to protect and honour our country. Their sacrifices have enabled us to live in peace and have a future of freedom. May we never forget this or take it for granted.

As we remember the Spirit of Anzac, we pray for all those who have given to their country in the spirit of generosity for others. We remember and honour the fallen and those who returned back home to us. May this prayer be our personal thanks for the many sacrifices they have made.

AMEN.

Welcome

This term we welcome Samriddhi (Gr 6 Maegen) and Samrat (Gr 3 Deb/Lauren) Budhathoki to our school community. They have joined us from Nepal. We wish them and their family all the best as they settle in to our local community and begin their journey at our school.

School Camps

At the end of last term, while I was on leave, our Grade 3s went on camp to Kangaroobie and our Grade 4s to Angelsea. By all reports the children had a wonderful time and represented our school beautifully. Yesterday we gave a cold and wet farewell to our Grade 5s who set off on the Adventure Camp in Kyneton. We look forward to hearing about all their adventures when they return tomorrow.

School Hats

School hats are not required to be worn at this time of the year. I ask that all children take their hats home, to be put away ready to be brought back in September.

School Crossing

Please note that when you are picking your children up at the gate in Calvert St. that you are expected to use the crossing after school if you have parked on the opposite side of the road. We have noticed quite a few parents walking their children across without using the crossing at this very busy time. Your cooperation with this would be much appreciated as we need to emphasise the importance of the crossing to the children.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
