From the Head of Sport

This week we held our cross country carnival for both the junior and the senior schools. The sun was kind enough to grace us with its presence and it was a fantastic day for all. Congratulations to all those students who have qualified to go to either HICES(JS) or ISA(SS). The teams will be notified in Week 1 next term.
Thanks must go to all staff and parents who helped out on the day. Once again you were responsible for a smooth running carnival. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Congratulations - Athletics
Last week Casper Larkin competed at the Opens and U20 Australian Track & Field Championships in Brisbane. The competition doubled as the World Junior Qualifiers. Casper placed 10th in the U20 3km Steeplechase, a race which has 35 hurdles at 92cm including seven water jumps. This was an outstanding achievement for Casper, who was one of youngest for this event.
To qualify for this race Casper placed 2nd at the NSW Junior Championships and 3rd at the NSW All Schools Championships. Well done, Casper, on your achievements to date this year. We look forward to hearing of your future successes.
ISA Cross Country Carnival
The ISA Cross Country Carnival will be held on Wednesday, 24th May. If you qualified in the top eight in your age group please ensure that you are doing some running over the holidays to keep fit and ready to compete.
Presentation Evenings
Thank you to Mr Hoffmann for organising the Touch Football Presentation that was held on Monday evening, and congratulations to all the teams who performed so well this season as well as the players who received awards on the night.
