Italian Excursion

On Thursday 23rd March, the Year 8 Italian Immersion class were treated to an excursion exploring the local Italian community around Preston and Fairfield. Here are some of 8G’s reflections from the day:

“On our wonderful excursion, us students had lots of fun, especially during pizza making. We all waited patiently, for (not actually) hours to make and eat pizza. All we discussed was how amazing the restaurant was and what we were going to add to our pizzas. Yum.”  Achilles Antonopoulos

“We had possibly the best pizza ever down at Noi Pizzeria, where we learnt the history and secrets to an authentic Neapolitan pizza. We stuffed our faces and drove on to Fairfield, where we scampered around on a highly competitive scavenger hunt, peering into shop windows and writing answers.”

Zach Douglas-Gillett

“During our Italian excursion, I really enjoyed the scavenger hunt. I liked it because it was so chaotic and fun! Everybody was running around, down the footpaths and into shops, frantically asking questions to the employees and writing the answers down. Achilles and I ended up being last, funnily enough.”

Joshua Ozga Andrews

“We ended the day with a stop at Gelato Papa. I had a cone of a delicious raspberry sorbet as well as a taste of a few of my friends’ ice-creams. I really enjoyed this excursion because I felt like I had the chance to get to know my classmates better, as well as to judge their taste in ice cream (yes, mint chocolate is disgusting, you know who you are).” Elsie House
