Senior Unit - 5/6

Senior School Snippet

We hope that everyone had a lovely break and enjoyed the last of the glorious Autumn weather.

The Year 5/6 students have quickly settled back into their learning routines despite it being a short week.

Term 2 promises to be a busy and no doubt productive one.  The Senior students are attending Camp in Canberra next week which complements their learning around the Australian Government and Parliamentary System.  There is an excited buzz in the air as this experience nears.

Students need to be at School on Tuesday morning at 7:00am please.

We have many senior students representing Woodend PS in the District Cross Country this week.  We wish them well and know that they will make us proud.

Throughout this term the senior students will be learning about our environment and the things that live within it. There will continue to be a daily Reading focus with the children further developing their independent Reading Goals.  Students will be selecting a topic of interest and writing a persuasive piece of text using Aristotle’s modes of thinking to enhance their stance. Within Numeracy, daily learning will be based around number facts and applying a variety of strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems.

As always we welcome and encourage feedback and look forward to working in partnership with our families to make this term an enjoyable successful one.
