Cycling

Term 1 was a busy time for our small band of competitive cyclists at Frankston High School. Archie Chester (Year 8) has had an impressive race season, coming 2nd in the Victorian Mountain Bike Championships Series U15 division and 3rd in Round 6 of the National MTB Series at Bairnsdale.
Nash Snooks (Year 7) finished 2nd in Junior (U15) B Division in the Victorian Interschool Cycling Series (Road). Each round raced a different discipline, including criterium, individual and team time trials and a hill climb.
Oliver Beaumont (Year 10) and Nash competed in the National Mountain Bike Championships at Canungra, Queensland in March. Built to World Class standards, the track was extremely steep and technically difficult, with high rainfall adding to the challenge. Both boys rode well but had mechanical setbacks in the XCO (Olympic) event, while Nash came 6th in the U15 XCC (short course).
