From the Principal

Our Vision

Each child has a gift or talent. It is our job to find it and to show it to them.

Our Mission

Identify the talent, develop the confidence and create the leader.

What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?

Swimming Reflection

The students had a fun time participating in the swimming program at Waves. The program was focused on developing specific swimming skill sets at each level. The program provided new social and emotional interactions, that fostered student and staff synergy, and the building of students’ resilience. Peer connections became stronger, and memories were made. Jarrod and Shelley Bradley were pivotal in the planning and facilitation of the swimming program, for which we are truly grateful.

Leadership Morning

Next Tuesday 9.30-11.30 our school opens its doors to the community to showcase how the students and staff practice Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The activity provides students opportunity to focus in on the Habits and how they are using them in their daily routines. Guests will listen to testimonies from students, staff and parents, enjoy inspirational music and songs, and tour through classrooms. Stops and observations along the tour will include AUSLAN, Green Team, Cooking, Art, Goals, Lead Measures and Leadership Notebooks, Circle of Influence and Mat Man (a Foundation activity demonstrating synergy).

School Tours and 2024 Enrolments

Tours have been heavily booked and many enrolments have been submitted for the Foundation 2024 intake. Le Page parents of students starting school next year are encouraged to submit enrolment forms before the end of term. The K-F transition program has been helpful for our up-and-coming students, and parents are also encouraged to check out these dates and book in. Brooke Sheppard can provide information and answer questions regarding the program.

Sandpit

The sandpit has been fenced off. Having excavated the area, massive concrete slabs were uncovered. The removal of such requires a large digger, and the work will be completed during the school holidays, for the safety of all. We are looking forward to seeing the students playing once again in the large, full and safe sandpit.

Shade Sail

A new sail has been ordered and it is expected to be installed by June.

Inclusive Schools’ Fund

Finally, after a very long wait, the Outdoor Sensory Garden project will commence soon. This development will be where the old play equipment area was, underneath the old and large shade sail at the high end of the school. The project will have an indigenous theme and become a peaceful and joyful space for students to explore, sit and talk, play, hide and meet for outdoor teaching and learning. The project manager has scheduled a meeting for next week. We will keep the community posted as updates come through.

ANZAC Day Ceremony

Last Friday students led a moving ceremony to honor the sacrifice others have and continue to make. They made us so proud.

Thought for the Week

Let your gratitude send off so much positive energy, that it shifts the vibrations in the room.

Have a great weekend everyone.
