Principal's Report

Remote Learning is Amazing!
Wow! Thank you families for your amazing messages of support for everything teachers are doing in planning and managing the remote learning. Can I say "Right back at you!" We would also like to say a big thank you to all of you for your patience and words of encouragement. Your appreciation of what we are doing at MPRPS&K has made all the difference, in particular, when things are challenging.
The office is continuing to prepare paper copies of the online learning for families that have requested it. These packs are picked up at an allocated time.
We have loaned out iPads to our Foundation to Year 2 students who did not have a device at home. These requests needed to be submitted through the school email. It's important that if you have an older iPad that is not running the newest version of Seesaw - this week that should not be an issue anymore. It is easiest not to complete the task through the Seesaw app but take a photo of the work and upload that to Seesaw.
Onsite Learning Applications
Department of Education and Training Secretary continues to communicate about the importance of learning from home. The advice of the Victorian Chief Health Officer is that – all children who can learn from home, must learn from home, to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Below is an application form from the Department of Education for on-site attendance. If you feel you have grounds to request your child attend school you must complete and return the attached application to the school email. This application will be reviewed and you will be informed if your application has been successful or otherwise. No child is permitted to be on the school grounds without the approval, by the school principal, through an official application.
Application forms must be submitted weekly by Thursday 3.00pm for approval for attendance the following week with a decision communicated on the Friday by 3.00pm.
Parent Survey
In order to make our remote learning program as successful as possible we are seeking feedback from all members of our school community regarding the implementation of online learning at MPRPS. There are two links for the survey, one for the Junior School (Foundation to Grade Two) and one for the Senior School (Years 3-6). This will assist us to take into consideration the needs of our community across the school. The survey should not take longer than 5-7mins but will provide useful feedback that staff will analyze to make further improvements. This survey will close Friday 24th April at 3pm.

Working from Home
Our first staff film clip was received so well, we have put another one together. Big thanks to Tegan Kitteringham for putting our Working from Home clip together. I hope it brings a smile to everyone's faces.
