So many grateful & happy teachers @ St Edward’s School. ✔️✔️✔️

Your generosity and willingness to help us,  to support happy, healthy kids at St Edward’s School, will never be underestimated and always be greatly appreciated.

If you are able to assist, whether it be each week, once a month, or even every ‘cotton picking’, please ring Primary Office, and leave a message for Andy Lockwood,  or email me on alockwood@arm.catholic.edu.au

Many hands make light work! Your contribution would be amazing!

Family Packages

Keep an eye out for a package that will be sent home with the eldest child in each family tomorrow (Friday 14th). This envelope contains very important information, some of which is to be returned to school no later than Friday 28th February.  We ask that you take time to go through the contents carefully and update information as required and complete and return forms/notes promptly. It will be appreciated if teachers and administration staff are not required to spend time chasing up notes etc. past the due date.

Child Protection

As part of our school policy in keeping our children safe, we need to ensure that any person who takes care of the students of St Edward’s School has their Working with Children Clearance. This includes volunteers on an excursion, reading groups in the classroom or coaching a sporting team. If you don’t have this clearance, this is what you need to do: Go to the RMS (Roads and Maritime Services), and simply ask for the working with children clearance. More information can also be found by clicking here. Make sure you say that you are volunteering at the school for whatever the reason; otherwise there will be a charge of $80. If you volunteer it is free! The school will need a copy of this information which will be given to you by the RMS.  Please then send a copy into the school or email it to setadmin@arm.catholic.edu.au so we can keep it on file.

Cars at the INFANTS

We would like to remind all Infants’ parents of the procedures for parking in and around the Infants School. Children at the Infants who come to school by car should be dropped off and picked up in Thompson Crescent or David Street. Cars are not allowed in the school car park as it interrupts the flow of traffic in Robert Street, as well as being dangerous to the children. Staff cars only are allowed.

The Eastern Side (near Hall) of David Street is a “No Standing Zone” which means children can only be dropped off and picked up in David Street on the school side. If you park in Robert Street, please set a good example to your children and use the pedestrian crossing at all times.

A parking bay exists in Thompson Crescent. This bay is to enable parents to pick up and drop off children.  You are allowed to reverse park only in the lined spaces provided for a period of 15 minutes only during the school zone time:  8.00 - 9.30am and 2.30 - 4.00pm. Please take the first available parking spot, and not wait for your preferred park.  As a safety precaution, please alight from the car when parked and then assist your child out of the car and ensure that they are safely on school grounds.  We remind parents that the Pick-up/Drop Off Area at the rear of the Infants Campus is very busy before school, so please just drop your children and leave quickly as cars bank up and hinder the flow of traffic.  When leaving the pick-up area, you are requested to turn left only and proceed around Thompson Crescent.  Parents are also reminded to hold your child’s hand when stepping off the roadside kerb.  Also, please do not park up on the Council Park Area at the rear of the Infants Campus. We appreciate your help in these important safety matters.

Qkr! THE EXCITING SCHOOL APP!!

We would like to remind our families that St Ed’s has Qkr! This mobile App allows fast and easy payments with the flexibility to pay your School Fees, Activity Levy, Lunch Orders, School Clothing orders and Excursion money wherever and whenever you like. Simply download the Qkr! App from the app store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). 2020 School Bus Passes

The 2020 School Bus Pass for those students who are deemed eligible by Transport for NSW for free travel will be mailed to the student’s postal address.

Most passes will be received between the 24th January and the 31st January 2020.

If the student does not receive their school bus pass by the 3rd February 2020 then please do not hesitate to contact Tamworth Buslines.

A grace period is allowed at the start of the school year to enable sufficient time for students to be issued with their school bus pass. During this time drivers will not require students to show a pass and students may still travel, however we do require passes to be shown once the school bus pass has been received.

To travel free during the grace period school students must be in school uniform or be able to provide evidence (such as a school ID or school books) they are travelling to or from school.
