Ash Wednesday
Wednesday 26th February is Ash Wednesday. All students will be attending a Liturgy of the Word which will include the imposition of Ashes. This means your child will receive the Sign of the Cross on their forehead with ashes (made by last year’s palm leaves).
We ask that parents notify their child’s class teacher if they do not want their child to receive ashes on Ash Wednesday.
First Confession
We ask that you keep the students and families who are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confession for the first time in your prayers and thoughts.
Thank you to the parents and friends who were able to attend the Parent Information evening for the Sacrament of First Confession on Tuesday. We hope you found it informative. If you were unable to attend, a pack containing information was sent home with your child yesterday. If you did not receive yours, please contact your class teacher.
This weekend sees us continue the journey towards the students receiving their First Confession with our Parish Enrolment Masses. It is an expectation that parents will attend one of the following Masses with their child to formally enrol them into the sacramental program. The Mass times are: Saturday 15th February (5.30pm) & Sunday 16th February (9.00am OR 5.30pm). A teacher will be at each Mass to hand out the enrolment cards and to mark your child’s attendance.
If you are unable to attend one of these Masses, you will need to contact Fr. Paul at the Church Presbytery on 6765 9543.
The date for the Sacrament of First Confession is Wednesday 25th March at 4.00pm.
Opening School Mass
Tomorrow, Friday 14th February, students from Years 1 - 6 will attend Mass at Mary Help of Christians Church to celebrate the beginning of the school year. It will begin at 10.00am. All parents are welcome to help us celebrate as the School Leaders will have their badges blessed by Father Paul and receive them in a special ceremony during the Mass. We hope to see you there!
Mass for the Religious
On Monday 17th February, our staff Leadership team will join our student leaders and Year 6 to attend a special Mass for the Religious. This Mass will be officiated by Bishop Michael Kennedy with other representatives from local parishes and schools.
Offertory Roster
The roster for those wishing to be a part of the Offertory, and take the Gifts up to Fr. Paul at a weekend Mass is currently under construction.
If you would like your children/family to be rostered on for this very important ministry, please contact Mrs Clarke: sclarke@arm.catholic.edu.au . You will need to nominate a Mass time, Saturday at 5.30pm, 9.00am Sunday or 5.30pm Sunday. Thank you!
Altar Servers Roster - old and new
Could all current Altar Servers please email Mrs Clarke to notify her of your preferred Mass times. This will help in finalising the Altar Server Roster.
If there are any children who would like to serve at a weekend Mass, Years 1 - 6, and are not currently altar serving, please notify Mrs Clarke at the Primary or Mrs Willis at the Infants. A large group of our servers were from Year 6 2019, so we would love to see some new faces.
