Around The Primary

Dear Parents
We are now in the first week of Lent. On Wednesday the Year 3-6 students gathered together to celebrate Mass for Ash Wednesday and our Junior classes participated in prayerful class liturgies. Lent is a time of getting ready for the celebration of Easter and one of the most important times on our liturgical calendar. Please take some time over the next forty days of Lent to pray as a family or maybe join us at our Community Mass at 8.00am on Friday mornings.
Special thanks to Ms Cooney, Ms Allen and Mrs Haydon and Year 3G for preparing our lovely Mass this week.
The Year One students have been talking about how to be more like Jesus and choosing good deeds to do during Lent. I hope you enjoy reading some of their Lenten promises.

Attendance at school is a critical factor in any child's academic success. Children should attend school every day, except in cases of illness or emergency. It is impossible to replace the learning that happens on any school day with ‘make-up’ work. Our teachers put a lot of time into the preparation of each lesson and children should be at school for the entire day. We are concerned that some children are being collected early so families can get an early start to events over the weekend. All lessons are valuable, and it is an expectation of the College that children are present for the full day.
Our Primary Photos will be taken next Tuesday 12 March and Wednesday 13 March. All students must wear their correct school uniform to school. If students have sport on Tuesday or Wednesday they can change into their sports uniform after the photo session or just bring their sneakers to school. The Photo schedule is attached for your information.
If parents would like a family photo to be taken, please take your children to the Exhibition Centre at the following times:
- Tuesday 12 March - 8.00am to 8.30am and from 3.15pm
- Wednesday 13 March – 8.00am to 8.30am
Next Thursday 14 March our Interhouse Swimming Carnival (Years 4-6) will be held at Claremont Pool. The students have worked very hard during their recent swimming lessons and many have been training after-school too in preparation for this event. It is hoped all families will come along to the Carnival and support all of our students while they compete.
Kindy 2021 enrolment interviews for siblings commence in Term three. Please ensure you have submitted an enrolment form for your child to begin Kindy at the College. Please contact Laurence Dubuisson, our school Registrar if you have any queries laurence.dubuisson@cewa.edu.au
Ms Tracey McGann has resigned from her Administrative position. We will miss Tracey and wish her well with her future endeavours. Please contact Nancy Petsos nancy.petsos@cewa.edu.au if you have any Primary queries.
This Saturday morning, 9 March we will open the doors of the College for prospective families. We encourage families from the Primary school to come along and see the wonderful facilities in the Secondary school.
5G have been busy preparing for next Friday's assembly. Everyone is welcome to meet us in Roncalli Hall at 9.00am.
Kind regards,
Antoinette De Pinto
