The Arts

Catholic Performing Arts Festival

On Friday 17 August, the College Concert Band performed at Newman College. The two pieces were quite difficult in comparison to the repertoire that they previously worked on, and with a very young band, they did the College very proud. Thank you to Mrs Freind and Mr Gonsalves for their assistance on the night and to Mr Hawke and all of the parents and friends who came to support the Concert Band.

Over the last two weeks, we have also had a number of solo performances and congratulations go to the following students who represented the College in the festival:

  • Thomas Rogers (Saxophone)
  • Deji Yin (Saxophone)
  • Elicia Yii (Flute)
  • Elijah Edmonds (Classical Guitar)
  • Luke Marshall (Classical Guitar)
  • Corey Lyons (Classical Guitar)
  • Patrick Osias (Classical Guitar)
  • Caitlin Spiegl (Classical Guitar)
  • Caris O’Hara (Classical Guitar)

Congratulations again to all of these students for your time and dedication to the performing arts. We will also have a full article on the Dance section of the Catholic Performing Arts Festival in the next newsletter.
