Australian Mathematics Competition

I would like to congratulate our 133 students who sat the Australian Mathematics Competition on the 9th of August. Our students made up 0.07 per cent of the many young Australian students who sat for AMC Australia-wide. These students were faced with 30 carefully constructed and engaging problems. They explored and developed their problem-solving skills and are encouraged to utilise their creativeness in order to solve real life problems. Our teachers prepared these students for the AMC by using a variety of materials for training and practice which we sourced from Australian Mathematics Trust. As AMC is now available online, we are looking into introducing this version to our students next year.

I would like to thank the admin staff, Ms Harvey, Mrs Roberts and Mrs Burgoyne for their assistance, the teachers, Mr Beins, Mrs Eloff, Mrs Miranda, Mr D’Almeda, Ms Abel and Mr Ah Fong who were involved in supervising the students during the competition. I look forward to having more students participate in the 2019 AMC and in the years to come.
