Classroom News - Stage 1

WELCOME TO TERM 3!

We were very sad to say "Goodbye" to Mrs  Rebecca Holmes and we wish her well on her move back home to Toowoomba. However, we are very pleased to welcome Mrs Elizabeth Peach to our Stage One team, as she takes over the reins in the S1H classroom. Mrs Peach will be available for Parent Meetings in Weeks 4 and 5, so that she may become acquainted with the parents of children in S1H.

HOMEWORK

As there will be no weekly Homework sheet going home from now on, we hope the children become more regular with their Home Reading Folders. Children will need to continue to practise their sight words, if they are still working on achieving 200 words. If you have any queries about this please speak to your class teacher.

BOOKWEEK!

Don't forget its Bookweek this week. The theme is "FIND YOUR TREASURE!" We are inviting ALL the children to bring a favourite book to school to share this week. Tell us why you like it. Also, any parents with some time to spare are more than welcome to come in and share their favourite book with us as well.

We will be going to the Town Library for a special visit as well. Please remember to bring in your note!

Gymnastics

The children have really been enjoying their time with Mr O'Hara at the gymnastics Centre every Wednesday. We will not be going this week because we will attend the Whole School Mass for the Feast of the Assumption on Wednesday. This means we will have an extra week of gym on Wednesday 29th August.
