Deputy Principals' Report

Dear Parents and Friends,
This is always a bittersweet time of the year. Whilst we are all excited about Christmas and looking forward to a long break from the usual routine, it is also time to say farewell to our departing Year 6 students. It only seems like a short time ago that they were beginning their own journey at St Finbar's. They have grown into mature young people who are ready to start the next stage of their lives. We will enjoy these last days with our Year 6s, celebrating their Graduation tonight and then a fun Big Day Out on Monday before our traditional 'guard of honour' goodbye on Wednesday at 1:30pm. We wish these students a successful transition to secondary school
Reports
Semester 2 reports will be able to be accessed through the Parent Portal after 4pm on Monday. You will receive an email letting you know when the Portal is open, and giving instructions for how to access the Portal. Your username is your email address. If you have previously accessed the portal and changed your password, your password will remain the same. If it is your first time accessing the portal, you will be provided with a temporary password and instructions on how to change your password. We strongly recommend that you download your children's reports and print them and save them onto your own computer for future reference. Please contact mhill@sfbrightoneast.catholic.edu.au if you have any issues accessing the portal.
Family Santas
Thank you to those families for their family Santa's. Please take time to walk through the foyer and see their creative responses. There is still room for more, if families are planning on sharing their artistic talents with the school community.
Family Wellbeing
Wishing you all a relaxing and prayerful Christmas and summer break. The best activities for family wellbeing are always the most simple. Please enjoy spending time together as a family, having PJ late mornings, picnics in the park or the beach. Playing cards and board games are always opportunities for fostering family relationships and at times building resilience. We look forward to seeing you all refreshed for 2020.
Thankyou to the Student Wellbeing Team; Pat Berlingeri, Michelle Hill, Jacqui Prosser, Caitlin Liels and Charlotte Ireland for your hard word dedication and professionalism. We met every three weeks to support the Social and Emotional Learning of each student. I have also thoroughly enjoyed working with the Year 6 Wellbeing Leaders; Ebony, Sasha, Dimity and Emma. This was a new leadership portfolio and these young ladies have got us off to the flying start with wellbeing days and special activities throughout the year. I thank them on behalf of our community for their hard work and creativity.
