Careers

Year 12 Students

At the moment: Term 2 is an excellent time to be continuing the research started in Careers classes last term. Think about your interests and your skills and the things you are good at. You can come and chat to Mrs Borg or Ms Gibbs in B21 if that would be helpful. Slightly longer term: Do not forget to set aside Sundays in August to attend tertiary institution Open Days - a calendar will be provided early in Term 3. Do not sit around feeling anxious – seek assistance if you need it.

Tertiary Information Service (TIS) excursion:  Permission slips have been distributed for this excursion to La Trobe University on Tuesday 21 May. Year 12 VCE students should return these to Senior School Office by 10 May. This is an important excursion for students considering further study at TAFE or university next year, or in the future. It is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the options available to them post secondary school and to hear from a panel of experts from across the tertiary sector about topics such as the VTAC process, choosing a course, scholarships, special admission schemes, fees and Open Days. They will also be able to meet with, and talk to, representatives from most of the Victorian Universities and TAFEs and other education and training providers and to collect specific course information and brochures.

Important information about the release of the ATAR in 2019:  The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) and Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) are pleased to announce that 2019 VCE results and ATAR will now be released to students at 7.00am on Thursday 12 December 2019. This new date is 24 hours before the date that had been previously published. This change provides additional time for students to receive their results, access support services and make change of preference decisions prior to the end of the year.
