Vehicle Access Changes

Vehicle access changes – Scenic Drive & Victoria Park Bushland, Echuca

Due to riverbank erosion, from Tuesday, 23 July, safety measures will be put in place by Campaspe Shire Council, eliminating vehicle access to some roads along the Scenic Drive and Victoria Park Bushland in Echuca. Full pedestrian and cyclist access will remain available for use. Full vehicle access to the junction of the Murray River and Campaspe River, many sections of the Murray River Bank and the full boat ramp area will also remain.

It is an offence under the Road Rules for a vehicle to be on a section of road controlled by ROAD CLOSED signage.

A map showing the Vehicle access changes is below and is also  available of the Campaspe Shire Council Website, on Display in the Echuca Service Centre or by calling our Customer Contact Team on 1300 666 535 and requesting that a map is emailed or mailed to you.

Echuca SES Unit Recruiting Now

Victoria State Emergency Service (SES) Echuca Unit is recruiting for new members to assist them in keeping the community safe.

Volunteers receive free accredited, recognised training as part of their role, which may include rescue skills, truck licence, chainsaw operation, or boating on the Murray River.

SES is the response agency for flood and storm, as well as assisting other emergency agencies at incidents such as searches and rescues.

As well as emergency response, SES volunteers engage with the community to help them prepare for disasters. Echuca SES Unit Controller Judi Cantwell said volunteering was a rewarding way of helping the community.

“Joining the SES is a great place to meet new and exciting people, and the unit always welcomes newcomers,” she said.

“Volunteering is more flexible than some people may think, and there is a place for everyone within our team. Perhaps you would like to learn how to use a chainsaw? Or learn Crew Leader skills? Would you prefer to assist with media or grants and fundraising at the unit? Or speaking with school groups about being safe? We have a spot for you!”
