Monday saw the start of Subject Selection for the Senior School 2020. Students in Year 9,10 and 11 attended Subject Selection Assemblies and received the Senior School 2020 Subject Selection Handbook.

Web preferences are now open for students in Year 11 to select their Year 12 program for 2020. Web preferences will close on Wednesday 7th August at 3.30pm. 

 

To assist students in Year 9 and 10 with the selection of their subjects and program for 2020, students received a Subject Planning Sheet, that has a Career Planning Sheet on the reverse. Students are required to speak to their teachers about the subjects that they are interested in studying in 2020 as well as research possible career options. This needs to be completed and submitted to the General Office by 9am on Wednesday the 7th of August. Once this is submitted, Web Preferences will be open for students in Year 9 and 10 to select their 2020 subjects on Friday the 9th of August and will close at 9am on Tuesday the 13th of August.

 

The Senior School Information evening and Subject  Expo will be held on Monday the 29th of July starting at 6.30pm. Year 10 (2020) Information sessions will be held in the Oak Centre and Year 11 (2020) Information sessions will be held in the Hall. From here families will be invited to attend the Expo in the Oak Centre. 

 

Students in Year 10 have the opportunity to apply to accelerate into a VET subject  or VCE Subject in Year 10. They will need to complete an online application form for this. Students wishing to undertake VCAL will also need to complete an online application.

 

Links to these forms will appear on SIMON messages from Monday 29th July and need to be completed by Wednesday 7th August.

 

 

Parent-teacher-student conferences for students in Years 9-12 will be held on Tuesday August the 6th. This will provide a further opportunity for students and their families to discuss their progress and receive further support around their subject and pathway choices. Mrs Beth Crossman, our Pathways Coordinator. Families are encouraged to make an appointment to speak to on the night. 

 

Students are encouraged to speak to their classroom teachers, learning mentors and Career Teacher to assist them at this important time. 

 

Subject Selection for selection for students in Years 7 and 8 will start on Wednesday the 14th of August.
