Under 16 Girls State NRL

A massive congratulations to our Under 16 Girls NRL Team who came 2nd to Tarneet SC in the Victorian State Championship. We are so proud of your teamwork, commitment to training and each other. What a day!

Thank you to our Captains Lorna and Faye who continually lead by example.

Under 16 Boys Fountain Gate

What a fantastic experience to have a friendly game and build connections with Fountain Gate Rugby Academy. The victors were Fountain Gate, an incredibly strong Academy team, with a high skill level and the ability to utilise Rebels coaches. Our boys learned a lot through the experience and are eagerly training to welcome the FG team to HP in Term 4.

Under 16 Boys 7s State

A great day out on the Westside competing against some experienced and highly skilled teams. Our boys played with skill and aggression for the ball to win against Sunshine SC and having a highly competitive game extremely close in score against Fountain Gate. Congratulations on finishing 5th at State!

Thank you to Jay Matavao for coaching and supporting throughout the day.

Under 14 Girls State

Unfortunately, the girls did not get the win on the day due to a few injuries. However, we must make mention of their teamwork and their collaboration and commitment. With an outstanding Try by Toefiliga and some experienced coaching from Pene and Mr Christiansen. Congratulations girls on making it to state, it was a great achievement and we look forward to working with this young team and seeing how far they can go next time!

Basketball with Hallam Secondary College

Mr Illangakoon has been working hard with our Under 18s Boys A and B Basketball Teams to prepare for the friendly match at Hallam SC. On the 4th of September we took the team to Hallam and had a highly competitive match against their Academy players.

The games were highly competitive with quite a bit of tension in the air as our A team came out strong in the first quarter, throughout the game we fought hard and narrowed the margin making for an exciting game. Unfortunately, we came out with a loss, however I was so impressed by how the boys showed up and fought for the win, we gave Hallam a run for their money!

In Term 4 we are hosting Hallam SC here to continue to build connections between schools in our area and provide engagement opportunities for students with a passion for the sport. We look forward to hosting them and the boys have been working hard, training 2-3 times a week and the squad is looking good!

Student Engagement

Year 11 Ice Skating

Recently 140 of our Year 11 students visited the O'Brien Ice Skating Centre in the Docklands as part of an activity organised and promoted by students from the Year 11 PE class.

This excursion focused on promoting physical activity amongst our students, and was a fantastic day for all the students and staff!

Community Sporting Opportunities

HPSC offers a range of sports for students to participate in during the year.

Sign up days will be closer to the event, and will be announced at school. For any questions regarding the Sports program, speak with Ms Bree Peart.
