Feedback to Parents: Key Dates

At DSC we provide detailed feedback about specific tasks to parents and students on key dates. These dates for 2020 are:

  • Comments in Learning Tasks: March 12, May 14, June 25, Aug 20, Oct 15 and Dec 10
  • Student-Led Conferences: March 24 and August 26
  • Semester Reports: July 17 and December 15

These tasks will be flagged to show there is an indication of the grade and effort as well as a comment.

The end of semester reports are a summary of each subject with Victorian Curriculum levels and grades for key tasks, and will be published on Compass by July 17 and December 15. There will be no comments on end of semester reports. You will see comments in Learning Tasks on March 12, May 14, June 25, Aug 20, Oct 15 and Dec 10 by following the instructions below.

Bookings for Student-Led Conferences (SLCs) will open in Compass on March 12 and close on March 22.

Students should currently be reflecting on their learning in all subjects and planning for the SLCs. Discovery lessons will give students more time to think about how they can plan to benefit from the conferences.

Every Day Counts

At Doncaster Secondary College we have high expectations in the areas of student engagement, attendance and behaviour. Regular school attendance enables students to maximise their full educational potential and to actively participate and engage in their learning.

Regularly being absent from school can have a big impact on your child's learning.

Give your child every  chance to succeed and remember that every day counts.

Photographing, Filming & Recording  Policy

At Doncaster Secondary College we take great pleasure in celebrating students’ achievements and participation within the College.

Photos are taken at events such as swimming and athletics carnivals, concerts, excursions, camps and other activities held within the College grounds. These are used for promotional purposes and are a wonderful way to share information with the broader community via the College website, newsletter, yearbook, digital screens and social media.

Please find attached our Photographing, Filming & Recording Policy which further details how images are used by the College. Also attached is the Annual Consent Form and Collection Notice.

If you have read these documents and are comfortable with Doncaster Secondary College using photos, video or recordings of your child then you do not need to take any further action

However, if you do not want images of your child to be collected or used by our school, please complete the below Annual Consent Form and return it to Doncaster Secondary College main office by Thursday, 27 February 2020. Please note it may not be possible for the school to amend past publications or withdraw images that are already in the public domain.

Please do not hesitate to contact Csilla Kosa at the College on 9848 4677 if you have any questions or concerns.
