LIBRARY REPORT

Celebrating Book Week – Author visit from J.C. Burke
Book week is celebrated nationally during August. At McKinnon, we recognise this time by having authors visit to speak to our students and by running lunchtime events in the library. On Tuesday the 12th of August, J.C. (Jane) Burke spoke to our Year 9 students. Jane is an award winning author of 10 books for young adults and a highly engaging speaker. She had the students enthralled with stories of how she gets ideas for writing and of her writing process. Teasers from her books Pig Boy, The Red Cardigan and Pretty Girl had students keen to borrow her books.
Congratulations to the six students who won a copy of one of Jane’s books - Brendan Moncrieff, Grace Nam, Sebasitan Hilton-Delhaye, Kesha Singh, Hayden Kelly and Irene Tartiris
