Important Notices

Student-Free Day - Teacher Professional Practice Day

Later this term, our school will running a student-free day for the purposes of Teacher Professional Practice. This is an important day for our teaching staff to complete professional readings, perform assessments and planning and other aspects of their role. These days are an entitlement for teachers under the new schools agreement which has been in the media recently.

Due to staffing difficulties in the sector currently, the DET is advising that schools take these days as student-free days (as we did in term 2 of this year).

We will be taking this day on Monday 5th September. Families will need to make alternate childcare arrangements on this day. We expect that Team Kids will be able to provide a full-day program of care for families who require it.

100 Days of School

On Thursday 4th of August the Foundation students reached a once in a lifetime milestone- 100 days of school for the very first time! On this very special day, they participated in many different and fun learning activities that related to the number 100.

Students were encouraged to come to school dressed as anything relating to the number 100. They all looked absolutely fantastic!

The Foundation students also had class celebrations on their day. They completed lots of fun writing, reading, maths and craft activities throughout the day.

It was great to hear and read some of the things students would do when they are 100 years old. Here are a few examples…

‘When I am 100 I want to go to the dealership and buy a tesla.'

Kyarne FB

'When I am 100 I want to be thinking about the good memories.'

Charlotte FB

'When I turn 100 I will roll around the floor. I will do nothing.'

Sylvia FJ

'When I am 100 I will watch TV in bed. I will stay in bed.'

Clifford FJ

'When I am 100 I will talk to the chicks.'

Ellie FM

'When I am 100 I will sleep a lot. I will do knitting.'

Indigo FM

It was great to see the teachers and students demonstrating our school values of kindness, creativity, resilience and curiosity throughout their learning .

Congratulations and well done Foundation!

Parent Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents/caregivers/guardians think of our school.

The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement.

Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

A random sample of approximately 30 per cent of parents/caregivers/guardians have been selected to participate in this year’s survey and will receive an email next Monday (15th August). We encourage families who receive the email to complete the survey.

The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 15th August to Friday 16th September.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Chin (Hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek.
