Grade 1/2

Toys Over Time

What a FUN start to the week in Grade 1 and 2, with the Toys Over Time incursion that took place on Monday. The children absolutely loved playing with the many toys on offer, spanning the ages of time. They rotated around four stations, including: Imagination Land, Construction Land, Movement Land and Animation Land. There was also a station called Museum, where students could look but not touch. They learnt so many interesting facts and discovered that the oldest toy in the world is a spinning top. As a special treat, they got to take one of these home.

Writing

In Writing, students are learning to add adjectives to their writing to make it more interesting and to create an image in the reader's mind. Mrs Sharland was so impressed with this short descriptive paragraph, written by Olive, based on this picture.

Yesterday I got a brand-new, shiny, blue, remote-controlled robot. It is sooo awesome! It even has glowing red eyes! I named it Ed. Ed has metal, red shoes. They're so shimmery.
