Australian Mathematics Competition

On Wednesday 3rd August, forty of Greater Shepparton Secondary College brightest young mathematicians competed in the Australian Mathematics Competition.

These students are competing against thousands of other students, of the same year level, from across Australia and Asia to answer a variety of mathematics questions, of increasing difficulty.  This year we elected to run the competition online and we hope to have the results back soon.

Organising such a large event required considerable support and I would like to thank Melissa Holland-Neale for managing the administrative work, Nick Lott and Ryan Curtis for organising IT support, Trevor Wilson and Kate Mudford for organising the additional tables and chairs, and Sarah Cameron for  supervising

“It was great but hard. I really loved the AMC, it helps with improving your maths skills.” – Jasleen 7N

“I thought I should give it a go and it was pretty easy.  I was so scared as I thought it would be hard but luckily I had my bestie Jasleen, she made me more confident.” – Zhyanne, 7J
