Library

Library Technician

What an exciting month August will be! We have many things planned for Book Week which you will find listed on the poster below:

We have a BOOK FAIR starting Monday 15th August which will be held in the Library. We still need a few more volunteers for this so if you can lend a hand, please contact me via Compass, or contact the school. You will be able to pay by Credit card and Eftpos, but we will not be accepting any cash. I have included a list of the dates and times the Book fair will be open.

Time to get your craft box out as there will be a Dress Up Day for all students on Thursday 25th August. This is generally Book Themed with characters from books, but any dress up will be fabulous.

On Friday 26th August, the wonderful Australian Author, Michael Wagner will be here to talk to all the year levels about how he writes his books and creates his characters. The year 5 and 6 students will also be having a Writer’s Workshop with Michael.

Next week we will have the Shortlisted Books from the Children’s Book Council of Australia on display in the library. The winning books will be announced on Friday 19th August.

There will also be a Reading Challenge which will be explained to the students shortly.

Stay healthy everyone and I look forward to seeing many of you at the Book Fair.

Happy Reading!

Update on Virgil

Virgil is 19 weeks old now and growing bigger every day. He is starting to lose his sharp little baby teeth, which I am very much looking forward to. It has been lovely to see the joy he brings to the students and staff alike.
