Second Hand Uniform Shop

Second Hand Uniform Shop:

St Joseph's has a second hand uniform shop that is located next to our canteen. The shop will be open for our parents most weeks and all clothing items can be purchased with a gold coin donation. Occasionally we have school bags for sale at $5 each.

This shop is run by our parent community and today I am calling for volunteers. We need volunteers that would be willing to do a load of washing, or to run the shop for a 30 minute shift. The shop will be open fortnightly on Friday mornings from 8:30am until 9am and on the alternate Tuesdays from 3pm until 3:30pm.

Washing volunteers:

Occasionally we will have donations that need to be washed before they go into our stock to sell. I am wanting a bank of washing volunteers that I can call on when we need a load of washing done. I want to share this task around and it's flexible for when you might put your hand up to help. I am anticipating you may only need to wash once or twice over the entire year. We would like the washing to be collected and returned to the second hand uniform shop within a week.

If you would like to volunteer, here's the Sign Up for this:

We are wanting some volunteers to run the shop. You can select a date that suits you and the shift is for 30 minutes. The shop will be open alternate weeks on a Friday morning from 8:30am until 9am and in the alternate weeks on a Tuesday afternoon from 3pm until 3:30pm. Volunteers get the key from Amanda and open the shop so parents can come to buy uniforms. As a volunteer running the shop, you simply help people find what they are looking for and collect a gold coin donation. This money is given to Amanda when you finish your shift. I have created a roster for Term 1 and please consider volunteering.

All volunteers at St Josephs need a ‘Working with Children Check’ and proof of vaccination. This is a requirement of all schools for volunteers.

Donations of Second Hand Uniform:

We welcome donations of good second hand uniforms. We ask that your donations are freshly washed and they have no damage or very minimal damage. For example a small texta or glue stain on a shirt is acceptable.

We also ask that you remove or cross out your child’s name on the uniform before donating. We are no longer accepting donations of the vinyl logo and ask that you keep them out of our donations.

Send your donations to school with your child and ask them to take them to the office. I am around on Thursday and Friday mornings and am happy to take them from you. Otherwise feel free to drop them at the office any time you are coming into school.

Thanks for your support and we look forward to working in partnership with you.
