Around the Classrooms

Year 1 and 2

In maths, we have been learning about division and multiplication. We have been using arrays to help solve worded problems and have started using a strategy called CUBES to help us identify the important parts in a worded problems. Look how successful these students have been!

 

In literacy students have discovered the ancient city of Egypt. Students have been writing conjunctions of before, but and so to add more detail to their writing. Students have been enjoying learning about mummification, pharaoh’s and pyramids.

Year 3 and 4

In Maths the 3/4 students have been working on Fractions. They have been looking at parts of a whole. Students have been looking at the connection between fractions and decimals using MAB materials, then showing them on a picture. Well done to all 3/4 students for showing so much resilience during a challenging topic! 

Year 5 and 6

Literacy:

The Grade 4/5/6 students have been working hard on constructing Information Reports. They had to go through the writing process of planning, drafting, editing as well as revising and then finally publishing. Enjoy some of their work samples. 

Numeracy: In Maths students have been learning about Location and Transformation. They have just started learning about the Caartisian Plane. In this task they had to label the different parts of the plane and were exposed to new language.
