SCHOOL COUNCIL

School Council President's Message

The Ringwood North Primary School Council is a vibrant mix of teachers and parents, committed to working together to improve student learning outcomes, foster the development of teaching and support staff, and promote parent and community engagement. Whether this is your first, third or eighth year at RNPS, we trust that all students and staff have experienced a smooth start to the school year, peppered with moments of both joy, challenge and triumph.

Council recently held its first meeting for the year. Having served on School Council and in the Education Sub-committee for the previous two years, it is my privilege to have been elected as your School Council President for 2019. On behalf of Council, I would like to take the opportunity to thank Paul Brennan, for his many years of service,

most recently as President. While Paul hasn’t left Council all together, it is timely to acknowledge his long-standing contribution to the RNPS community in this way. His commitment is valued, admired, and highly sought after.

I also wish to extend a warm welcome to our new School Council members: Lainie Berka, Karina Stocker, Ceridwen Owen and Natalie Bradley. They join the following standing School Council parent members: Michele Whitby (President), Paul Brennan (Vice President), Russell Smith (Treasurer), Beray Dervish-Bray and Meg Keogh. Our

department representatives are: Ben Allen (Secretary), Ken Chatterton (Executive Officer), Nick Burley, Fiona Davis and Yvette Bryant.

The willingness of parents to participate in the governance of the School results in a partnership that is respectful and reflective of its members. Council welcomes your questions, contributions and congratulations, and invites you to make contact either via email whitby.m.michele@edumail.vic.gov.au or in person.
