ART NEWSLETTER – TERM 4, 2018

The end of the year has finally arrived and what a busy time it has been!!! The theme continued to be

Self & Identity. Students were busy constructing their balsa wood homes.

The junior school used construct-a-sticks as well as balsa wood and icy-pole sticks to build their home, which was either a house or apartment building. It was a long, tedious process and all students created amazing pieces.

The senior school used balsa wood, icy-pole sticks, fairy floss sticks and matchsticks to create their homes. Students had a choice of either working independently or with a partner. The communication process was important, as students had to consider the best way to build their home, to ensure all pieces fitted accordingly.

The size of the homes ranged from small to large….

A mini exhibition of the homes was held in the art room for all students and families to enjoy.

The winners of the art room marble jar reward system for term 4 was F/1M. Scores were very close……. Congratulations for a fine effort!

Well done to all classes.

Wishing everyone a happy and restful break and look forward to seeing everyone in 2019. Good luck to year 6 students in secondary school. Please come back and visit us. You are always welcome.
