Principal's Report
Principal's Report
This will be the last newsletter for 2018. There have been many activities completing our school year. We recognised student achievement at our Presentation Assemblies last Monday and Wednesday evening. These events were extremely well planned and I have received very positive feedback from students and parents. Congratulations to all those students who received an award. I know parents and teachers are very proud of our students’ achievements this year.
Planning for 2019 is well under way. Our school will continue to focus on; Learning, Teaching and Leading. A copy of our 2019 School Plan will be available on our school website along with the Annual School Report for 2018. I encourage all parents to review these documents and provide any feedback at our P&C meetings early next year.
Year 6 graduation and farewell held on Monday night was a spectacular way to finish the primary education of our Year 6 students . I'd like to say farewell and good luck to our departing Year 6 students. I am sure you will all make the most of the solid preparation for high school provided here at Girraween Public School.
Our annual Talent Quest will be held this Friday, 14 December. There is a great variety of performances from our students and the staff band too. This is always a fun event for everyone. Students are also enjoying end of year picnic days to complete their school year.
Finally I would like to thank all members of our school community for the outstanding year our school has had in 2018. It is a pleasure to be associated with such a positive and productive school community, clearly focused on ensuring our students reach their full potential.
I hope to see many parents at next week's Carols Night. Have a great Christmas and New Year everyone! I look forward to seeing all those who are returning refreshed and ready for the 2019 school year after the summer holidays.
Regards,
G. Walker
