Staying healthy during this time doesn’t take a lot - just going for a walk and taking in some well-needed fresh air in these unique circumstances can make a world of difference.

Coming from someone who had sport almost every day before the health crisis, physical activity is a must.  Teens from thirteen to eighteen should have at least one hour of physical activity a day - this can be of any sort.  Over that past few days, I have been taking the time to take care of wellbeing simply by walking the dog or going for a bike ride along the Kedron Brook.  This is a public area for anyone to enjoy and have their fair share of physical activity.

Along with this, eating healthily is just as important, especially around this time of Easter.  We have all been craving that chocolate, but we still need to maintain a balanced diet.

Other than the physical aspect of health, keeping in contact with your friends is a great way to stay positive during this time.

Overall, if we all do our part to stay safe and stay healthy, we will all be able to come out just as strong. Make the most of it!!

Let's try a delicious smoothie recipe from Chloe Rogers.

Clare School

I am the Sport Portfolio Clare School Leader for this trimester. During recent times with Covid-19 restrictions, my sporting schedule looks dramatically different. However, this does not mean that I am unable to stay healthy in isolation.

Instead of running with my friends in Mt A’s Run Club at school, I have been running along the Kedron Brook in the mornings before school and on the weekends.  I have also enjoyed working out with my friends over Facetime before and after school.  Our favourite workouts are from the Nike Training Club and Workout for Women apps, in addition to videos on YouTube by Alexis Ren.  Isolation has also given me time to try out new recipes for breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

Overall, the current situation with Covid-19 restrictions has given me the chance to explore new ways of staying healthy and working out which I wouldn’t normally do.
