Senior School

SRC

The Student Representative Council have been working together along with Ms Campbell and Mr Keeghan.  We have decided that will be having a fundraiser for the animals that unfortunately suffered during the recent bush fires in Victoria.  On the last day of term, the whole school is encouraged to dress up as an animal, and bring a gold coin donation. Raised funds will be going to the National Bush Fire Foundation which helps wildlife that have been affected by these events.  Your participation is greatly appreciated.

Senior School Camp

We are in the final stages of planning for this year's 5/6 camp. Camp will be held at Lady Northcote YMCA, in Glenmore. Camp runs from Monday, May 20, to Wednesday, May 22. A camp information night will be held prior to the event and notices will be handed out very shortly.

Inter-School Sport

Last Friday was our final day of Inter-School Sport for summer before finals.   Again, students at Weeden Heights Primary School should be applauded in how they have conducted themselves and represented our school.   A huge thank you to parents who have helped us out for the past six weeks. Winter Sport will begin early next term.

In our classrooms

Students have continued to work very hard in all areas these past two weeks.  In Literacy, we are finishing off narrative writing, before we start looking at persuasive writing which will continue into next term. In Numeracy, we are investigating fractions and decimals. In Inquiry, students have been developing a timeline as part of their presentation for Night of the Notables.   We encourage students to make time in the holidays to organise a costume for the night which will be held early next time. Thank you to parents for your assistance with this.
