BONJOUR À TOUS! Hello everybody!

In the past two weeks, the students played various floor games in class. In Prep, they had to memorise objects on the floor and then figure out which one was missing and remember its colour in French.

In all other Years, we played a game called ‘Who is the mystery person?’. Two students at a time were sent outside the classroom while the rest of the class picked three students in the circle: one with the name of a famous person/character, one who lived in another country and one whose age was different from the rest of the class. Back in the classroom, the two students had to ask the appropriate questions to find the three mystery people. This game enabled all students to practice orally the six questions/answers that we are focusing on at the moment. It was also a fun way to revise some numbers.

Quel âge as-tu? - How old are you?

J’ai six (sept, huit, neuf, dix, onze, douze) ans -  I am 6 (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) years old.

Où habites-tu? - Where do you live?

J’habite à Melbourne - I live in Melbourne.

Comment t’appelles-tu? - What’s your name?

Je m’appelle Delphine - My name is Delphine.

Each week, students in Years 2/3, 3/4, and 5/6 will be given a couple of sentences to memorise, as part of their weekly homework. I strongly encourage the parents and siblings to practice at home with them. This will be a fun way for the whole family to learn. The students will regularly be assessed in class to monitor their progress.
