Footy Colours Day

On Wednesday 18th September we had a Footy Colours Day. Students wore their footy colours and raised money for the Fight Cancer Foundation's education support programs which keeps kids learning while they undergo cancer treatment.

On the day with many students dressed in their footy colours we raised $423.45 for  kids with Cancer.

Thank you to everyone who wore their footy colours and supported the Fight Cancer Foundation.

Icy pole sales at the canteen start Friday 18th October

From the success of selling icy poles on Wednesday 18th September, where we raised nearly $400 for the chickens and guinea pigs, the JSC will be selling icy poles each Friday starting Friday 18th October.

Icypoles will be selling for $1.00 and money raised from the sales will be put towards purchasing the school a defibrillator.

Defibrillators are essential first aid devices that restore a normal heartbeat by sending an electric pulse or shock to the heart. They are used to prevent or correct an arrhythmia, a heartbeat that is uneven or that is slow or too fast. Defibrillators can also restore the heart’s beating if the heart suddenly stops. Defibrillators are expensive and cost between $2000 and $3500.

All first aid trained staff in the school know that a defibrillator would be an invaluable asset as it can be the difference between life and death.

So remember your $1.00 on a Friday and enjoy an icy pole from the canteen.
