Artists of the week

Congratulations to Chloe L and Jenn S of 12L for their terrific Greek Black Figure Vase painting work, which was completed last term. The children looked at photos of this type of vase created by the ancient Greeks. They then learned how to flesh out stick figure drawings to make them more realistic. The drawing work was done with black wax crayons and a red food dye wash was applied over the top. Both Jenn and Chloe have included the mythical flying horse Pegasus on their vases. Bravo girls!

Newspapers Needed

Do you still read newspapers the old way? If so, we need them!!!

There is a box outside the art room office door where you can place newspapers to be reused.

Seeking donations of bottle lids, small bottle and cardboad boxes

Grade 3 & 4 students will be completing a papier marche unit in Term 4. We are seeking donations of plastic bottle lids, small plasctic bottles no larger than 600mL, small cardboard boxes such as toothpaste boxes or similar.  Please place these items in the cardboard box outside the art room office door.

Welcome to Miss Fisher

This term we welcome Lauren Fisher to our Art room. Lauren is studying a Bachelor of Art Psychotherapy at the Icon Institute, and is completing her placement at our school. She will be with us throughout term 4, Mondays to Thursdays. She comes with a wealth of enthusiasm for the Arts and how engagement in them can support our wellbeing. She has her own instagram page which you might like to check out.  As part of her placement, we will be running an Art club on Thursday lunchtimes in the art room. This club will begin in week 2 of this term. It might be an opportunity for children to complete work or to just come along and try something new.
