From the Principal

David Browne

Welcome back to ALL of our students!!

After two weeks of having only our year 11 and 12 students, it is going to be fantastic to have our entire school student body back learning onsite.  It has been 11 weeks since we last saw our year 7 to 10 students, so it is going to be a wonderful experience to see everyone back at school.  A school just doesn't feel right without students.

I want to congratulate our entire school community on how everyone has handled the past months of the pandemic and associated learning/working from home.  From a student, parent and staff member perspective, it has not been easy for anyone, but desperate times call for desperate measures, and the restrictions implemented across the country have allowed Australia to minimise the impact of the pandemic, in comparison to many other places around the world.

As I often say to our students, you get out of life what you put in, and this has been true over the past weeks of remote learning.  Those who have taken up the opportunities provided will find the transition back to onsite learning relatively smooth.  For others it may be more difficult.  Regardless of the situation, our staff will support all students to make a successful transition back to school and to help provide the opportunities for success and achievement.

If you haven't yet seen it, a number of our students have participated in a video which outlines some of the changes implemented for students returning to school.  This can be viewed here:

All of these changes have been put in place to make our school a safe place to work and learn in.

Wellbeing Services will continue to be available, however both Barb and Bek will be working remotely and will provide wellbeing services via Webex.  Students can make appointments via their year level co-ordinator, or Mrs Calder.  Julia will still be at school on her work days.

Acting Principal Arrangements
