Student Leadership Update

School Captains: Myah, Seb, Ivy & Henry

School Captains Message

Hi!.  We are Henry, Seb, Ivy and Myah and we are your 4 school captains.  It is week 7 and we are going to keep you up to date with the latest news.

Yesterday we were all told who won the athletics for this year.  For the Juniors and Preps it was Shannon and for the Seniors it was Skene.  "Go Skene" says Myah!

Two weeks ago the seniors went to school camp at Cave Hill Creek, near Beaufort and Ballarat.  It was two and a half hours away and we had a great time.  Some of the activities were giant ladder, archery, bouldering, hut building, bush cooking, map reading, low ropes, possum glider and canoeing.  Although it was rainy and wet most of the time, it didn't stop the seniors from having so much fun. Two groups, the Kangaroos and the Cockatoos, showed  a lot of resilience by choosing to go canoeing in the pouring rain but we had a lot of fun considering the bad weather!

Myah's favourite activity was canoeing and Ivy's was bush cooking.  The food and staff were so great and we hope the Newtown PS seniors can go back!

On Wednesday, about 25 seniors went to lightning premiership netball at Kardinia Park.  Everyone played amazing but sadly none of our teams got through to the next round.  Everyone did their best, especially as not many of us play netball and it was rainy and slippery most of the time.  Overall it was a great experience!
