Message from the Head of Campus
Kerrie Neophytou
This is one of my favourite verses from the Bible and it is central to many aspects of my life as a Christian and teacher.
Jesus shares the message so we can understand how it is important for us to have Him in our lives. Jesus is the vine, from vines - branches and then fruit grow. Jesus is the centre of our lives, like the vine is the very important part of this plant, without the vine, the branches will not grow and there will be no fruit.
As we grow from Jesus, so do our branches, however; do we consider how do our fruit grow and how do they impact our lives and the people around us?
When we learn, live and grow in faith, Jesus grows in our hearts and our branches become stronger and stronger. Like this picture where the branches grow from the vine, we grow from what Jesus has taught us, we grow and learn how to care, love and be kind to each other and understand all the teachings from Jesus.
During our struggles, the fruit that we bear, will impact our strength and responses. Can our branches hold our fruit? Our branches are challenged and our Fruit of the Spirit are central to these moments.
We often discuss with our children their struggles, but do we engage with Christ to help them understand how we respond to these times? When we respond with love and patience; this is what helps our children to grow in character and resilience.
Semester Reports
The students reports were available on Compass from 3:00pm on Friday 23 June. We encourage parents to take the time to view the report, as it provides feedback on academic progress and approaches to learning.
The information contained in your child’s report provides a summary of their achievement, attitude, behaviour and effort throughout the semester. These reports are part of numerous strategies which the College uses to communicate student’s progress and will be most beneficial when read in conjunction with your child’s workbooks, parent/teacher interviews, teacher/student contact and other work samples or communication.
Please be advised that Parent/Teacher Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday 26 July 2023 and Tuesday 1 August, more details will be provided. Student Support Group (SSG) meetings are schedule for the week of Monday 17 July and an evening session on Tuesday 18 July. SSG bookings for Term 3 meetings are available from Monday 26 June at 3pm.
Welcome!
We welcomed new additions to our WCC family; Adam Mawdsley, a Mathematics and Science Secondary teacher and Daniella Mawdsley the Year 2 teacher.
Happy Holidays
Wishing our WCC community a wonderful, safe and blessed holiday, enjoying time with family and friends. While parents collected their children on Friday, there was shared appreciation of our amazing teachers and how their hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated. We wish them rest and renewal during the term break.
