School Leaders
Congratulations and well done to our 2021 Junior School Captains and Vice Captains. I look forward to working alongside these very capable students and watching them grow and learn as they lead their peers.
Captains: Colt Ackerman and Amelie Chambers
Vice-Captains: Luke Sayad and Shanzay Zubair
This week the students in Year Six will be sharing House Captains speeches and their peers will be voting for suitable candidates to lead our new houses. Classes will also be voting for Library Monitors, Enviro Mentors and Student Representative Council Members. These class positions will be semester based.
Our School Captains, Vice Captains and House Captains will be inducted in the Whole School Leadership Induction Service on Monday 8th February. Class representatives will be badged in our Monday Morning Assembly on 15th February. Parents of the students involved will be notified and invited.
Seesaw
We use Seesaw to provide a window into the classroom for Calrossy families, We share progress, excitement and activities from the day, so you can be involved in your child’s learning as it occurs at school. https://web.seesaw.me
Existing families may have received a notification in the App to join your child’s new class. Or alternatively all students will have brought home a QR Code to sign-in and give you access to your child’s learning. You will only need the QR Code to add new family members (Mum, Dad, Grandma).
If you are having trouble signing in, please contact Mrs Melanie Archbold in the Junior School Office. Families do not have to sign up to Seesaw, this is your choice. All notices and information will be provided via the HUB, so you will not miss information.
Please note, that only you and your trusted family members, can see your child’s learning. You cannot see other’s children’s profiles.
Friday Assembly
Friday Assemblies will start in Week 4 and are on almost every week, in the Bishop Peter Chiswell Hall. A schedule for the year will be available on the HUB soon. Parents and Carers are welcome to attend. Please sign-in using the Service NSW QR Code at the Assembly Hall door. Please maintain social distancing by leaving two seats in-between each family group.
Primary (Years 3 to 6): 9am
Infants (Prep to Year 2): 9:45am
Arrival and Departure at School
Thank you for your patience as we navigate new routines and the start of the year busyness. It will get easier and faster as students settle into school routines.
At all times, please enter the school gates and turn left and proceed around the round-about. Once around the round-about, you may proceed to Kiss and Drop or park.
Can I encourage you, where possible and practical, to use the buses? The less cars we have at school, the easier it will be. If your child can catch a bus to and from school, not only will they have a fun social experience, but you will also be assisting to reduce the number of cars on-site at school, and helping the environment.
Kindergarten will have a special trip around town on the bus and learn about bus safety, in order to prepare them for bus travel too. In some circumstances, Prep students can also catch the bus with a responsible older student – please talk to your child’s class teacher.
Bus Passes are available online at Transport NSW, if you have any questions, please contact Mrs Melanie Archbold in the Junior School Office.
Visitors on-site
Visitors on-site must have a purpose and must sign-in using the Services NSW App and QR Code, which is located at the top of the Junior School path.
Labelling Belongings
Please label everything – socks, drink bottles, fruit containers, hats and school bags. If you are looking for good labels, see Stuck On You, who have a fundraising partnership with Calrossy. https://thehub.calrossy.nsw.edu.au/send.php?id=21483
