Father's day Edition
This is our last newsletter of the year! It was supposed to be distributed last week but we forgot to press the 'Publish" button. Please forgive us. Anyway... hope it's not too late!
Last Wednesday evening we managed to host our Year Six Graduation Night. It was a little different to that of years gone by, but with limited time to plan we were able to 'throw together' a pretty special night.
It was themed as a Masquerade Ball and children certainly came dressed to impress! With 'champagne' on arrival, a Shutterbooth (open-aired photo booth) to capture the memories, a two-course meal and a performance of Magic in between, it was a wonderful night.
The evening concluded with the presentation of certificates, a video 'trip down memory lane ' and the usual flood of tears.
Congratulations to all children and a special mention to Armani Mauriohooho who won our 2020 Community Award.
Thank you to Karen Thomas, Claire Weber, Mirella Verga, Mary De Guzman and Simone Ferro for taking charge of catering, service and styling. It was very much appreciated by all.
On Friday, your child received their completed Student Portfolio which contains four terms of work samples and publications along with the final Student Report .
Please take the time at some stage during the hecticness of the present, to celebrate with your child their achievements across the year. The Portfolios are yours as a keepsake so that hopefully you can build up a picture of your child's success in the years to come.
Today we gathered together in the Community Hall for the first time since early Term 2 to celebrate our Christmas Liturgy.
This liturgy, which was for students and staff only, provided us with an opportunity to celebrate the miracle of Christmas as a school.
Today will be our Step Up Day where children get to meet and work with their 2021 classmates and teacher.
It is always a day of excitement and anticipation. The beauty of the way our learning communities are set up is that children will always have a friend nearby. Our learning and teaching structures allow for movement between each cohort of children and there are multiple opportunities for children to mix with each 'home group'.
We hope that this final transition session assists in relieving any anxiety and fosters the development of new relationships.
With tomorrow being the second last day, we invite everyone to come to school dressed in Christmas attire. Ideas include a simple Santa hat, reindeer antlers, or simply Christmas colours. It will be a hot day so dress sensibly.
Year 6 Candle Ceremony
On Wednesday we will say a final farewell to our Year 6 students with our traditional candle ceremony. The students light a candle from the Corpus Christi candle as a symbol of the light of Christ in their lives which they will take with them on their journey to their new schools. Year 6 parents will be advised of details.
Congratulations to the Bransgrove family on the safe arrival of baby Otis, Brother to Jax (Year 2), and Leni (Year Prep 2021).

Thank you to the children who have already returned their library bags and books to Miss Wilkinson. All children need to return their Library books and bags to Miss Wilkinson by Monday 14th December. The library bags will be kept at school ready for next year.
As the year draws to a close, and with this being the final Newsletter for the year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of the life of Corpus Christi in 2020:
And finally, thank you to everyone in our beautiful community for the support of our school. We could not have got through the year as smoothly as we have without your support and understanding. I would like to wish each and every one of you a very safe and happy holiday. May the Christmas season fill your home with joy, your heart with love and your life with laughter and good health.
Have a wonderful holiday break
God bless
Anthony Hyde
