Advent
During the Advent season we are preparing for the coming of Jesus. In last Sunday's Gospel John the Baptist told people he baptised them to change their lives to prepare the way for Jesus.
We must make changes in our lives. John the Baptist baptised people as an outward sign of cleansing. But they must prove they have changed their ways by their actions.
How can we change to prepare the way for Jesus? Is it always easy to make changes?
How do we feel when teased by others or left out? Maybe if we know of someone being treated unkindly by others we could set an example by including that person in activities.
It takes courage to make changes, we can pray to have the courage to make necessary changes in our lives. If we are kind to the person who is being teased, then we run the risk that we will be teased too. That takes courage. God can help us to be brave.
Let us continue in this season of Advent to make changes in our lives in preparation to welcome Our Lord.
An Advent Prayer for Courage
Dear Heavenly Father,
Help me to hear your voice.
Touch me once again.
Give me the courage to be your beloved.
Give me courage to choose joy.
I need you now this Christmas
Be born in me again.
Today.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
Thank you to our families for supporting all we do at Corpus Christi. Wishing everyone all the blessings of Christmas and the gifts of love, peace and happiness. May you all have a very safe and relaxing holiday.
