2A - Miss Meagan and Mrs Bird

2A have hit the ground running. 

In Reading we are looking at visualisation and creating a picture in the readers mind. Students listened to a passage from Roahl Dahl and drew Mr Twit using the visual clues in the story. Mr Twit was a very ‘messy’ character 😊

In Numeracy we continued on with our data collecting- we used our results from our tally charts to create bar graphs- looking at labelling both the vertical and horizontal axis and giving our graph a title. Here are 2A’s favourite animals. 

2B - Miss Bailey and Mrs Hunter

Over the past week we have been concentrating on identifying and using descriptive language in literacy. In our CAFE Reading sessions, we are identifying words, phrases and sentences that help to create a mental picture in our minds by ‘visualising’ the text. Reading is one of our FAVOURITE things to do, we really enjoy losing ourselves in a story! In our Writing sessions, we are trying to use more descriptive language in our Recounts so that our audience can also visualise our story. Here we are doing back-to-back drawing with a partner based on the description they are giving.

2C - Mrs Mac

Students chose their own spelling words from the M300 list to be their focus for last week.

Each day, we spent 10-15 minutes practising words in different ways.

Here we are doing “Whiteboard Words”.
