Italian

Prep-6

Year 2 to Year 6:

Ciao! Mi chiamo Signora Saladino ed io sono la maestra d’italiano class 2-6.  I really enjoy teaching my second love, Italian with the students at St Joseph's. What the Italian classroom looks and sounds like is a very fun, engaging and holistic learning environment where I ensure that every child has success.

Over the course of the term, students will be learning about Carnevale and why, how and when we celebrate it. Focussing on Italian traditions is something that I feel is crucial when learning a language, too. I look forward to creating maschere (masks) with students later in the term and then embracing Pasqua in the last two weeks of term.

Grazie Giulia e Gabby from la sesta classe for modelling some authentic Italian masks.

Below are some sentences from some students in relation to what they are looking forward to learning this term:

I love learning Italian with Signora, I am looking forward to making a mask- Stella Yr 3.

This term I hope to learn about the Italian culture, especially Carnevale- Alex P Yr 5

I would love to learn more sayings in Italian- Christine - Yr 5

Auguri to the following students who are the Italian leaders for 2022. They will receive their badge at the Assembly next week (not tomorrow).
