School Captain News

Noah:

Hi again! Noah here with the third issue of captains news. Not much has happened this week besides a couple of swim lessons with all the people who tried out last week but then again, not every week is going to be exciting, so let me give you a brief recap on how this week went. On Monday the swim team trained at Harold Holt swim centre. The sessions normally go for around 45 minutes and consist of grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 and end at 8:30 am, so you could imagine it's a pretty early start for the people who are involved. Once everyone got to school all classes went about their businesses doing their work and following instructions. Tuesday was also pretty quiet for most people (including myself). I’m pretty sure that Wednesday is everyone’s specialist subject day which means that all classes go to music and art during the middle block of the day. Today in year 6 we’ve been quite busy with our work and I won’t get into too much detail but I have to say it went pretty smoothly. We also had sport and Italian today. Speaking of Italian, the Italian captains have been released today which means that there will be two people from each grade who will be this semester's Italian captains. I think I’ve covered everything so I’ll leave it here and I’ll see you next week.

Gaby:

Hi! This is school captain Gaby back with some more captain's news. Not much happening this week, although we did have some swimming training before school at Harold Holt on Wednesday and Friday for those who are in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 and who made it to the St Joseph’s swimming team. It goes from about 7:40 to 8:30, so you can tell that there are a few mixed emotions about it… Anyway, the Dendy Districts swimming competition will be held on Monday, which will be a great start to next week. Besides that, there hasn’t really been much else on… I’m pretty sure everyone’s lessons and subjects went reasonably smoothly, and I think all the Italiano Captains and Sports Captains for each class have been chosen, which is pretty exciting!! There are 2 Italian Captains from each class and are basically the SRC’s of Italian and will help organise Italian Day and many other things. There are also 2 Sports Captains from each class, and they will be responsible for their class’s sports equipment bags and will help Mrs Davies with whatever she needs too. These roles will last for 1 semester (2 terms) before some other students get a go at it. As I said, there really hasn’t been that much going on this week, so I think I’ll leave it there. Until next week, bye!
