Making a Ginger Bread House

Summer Program - Food Technology

Seven students from Year 7 and 8 spent the whole day making gingerbread houses. It was a great day and lots of fun. Although, students and teachers (Mrs Biviano and Ms Panas - student teacher), knew that the project of making gingerbread houses was going to be a challenge, the day played out very smoothly and the students found the task of making their dough, baking, building their houses and decorating them very relaxing and enjoyable.

The photos show the fun had by the students at the various stages of making their gingerbread houses. Even though there were a few mishaps along the way, with some roofs caving in and falling off, the perseverance and good sense of humour shown by students was refreshing. By the end of the day, all the gingerbread houses were standing erect and colourfully decorated. Each one individual in their own way. Collectively, we were all so proud and pleased with the end results. All seven houses were a success and looked fabulous.
